CM Nitish Kumar Inaugurates ₹1106.86 Crore Development Projects in Arwal During Pragati Yatra

Chief Minister Shri Nitish Kumar gave a gift of Rs 110686.77 lakh to Arwal district today in the course of Pragati Yatra. A total of 144 developmental schemes were inaugurated and the foundation stone was laid through remote.

In the course of Pragati Yatra, the Chief Minister inaugurated the renovation work of sluice gate and pain at village Mahavirganj in Karpi block of Arwal district by unveiling the stone plaque at a cost of Rs 380.37 lakh. After the inauguration, the Chief Minister inspected the renovation work of Mahavirganj sluice gate and pain. During this, the Chief Minister said that the renovation work of sluice gate and pain has been done very well here. With the completion of this work, the local farmers will get a lot of convenience in irrigation and the yield will also increase.

The Chief Minister also inspected the renovation work of Belkhara Ahar-Pain irrigation scheme and Chhath Ghat done under Jal-Jeevan-Hariyali Yojana. The officials told the Chief Minister that the dredging of Belkhara Aahar-Pain has been done. The length of this Aahar is 1800 meters, which has an irrigation capacity of 300 hectares. The people of three villages Belkhara, Radhe Bigha and Sheikhpura will be benefited by the Belkhara Aahar-Pain irrigation scheme. During the inspection, the Chief Minister said that a very beautiful Chhath Ghat has been built here, which will provide a lot of convenience to the devotees as well as the local people during the Chhath festival. Local farmers will be benefited by the dredging of the Aahar.

The Chief Minister inaugurated the Government Degree College, Arwal by unveiling the plaque at a cost of Rs 504.72 lakh. During this, the Chief Minister inspected the Government Degree College. During the inspection, the officials told the Chief Minister that this degree college has the facility of co-education, in which 80 percent girl students and 20 percent boys are enrolled. The Chief Minister inaugurated and laid the foundation stone of various developmental schemes under Arwal district through remote from the premises of the Government Degree College.

The Chief Minister inaugurated the Rural Garden, Belkhara by unveiling the stone plaque. The estimated cost of this rural garden is Rs 14.97 lakh. The Chief Minister inspected the Surya Mandir, Chhath Ghat and Pokhara renovated under the Jal-Jeevan-Hariyali Yojana. During the inspection, the artists performed on Bihar Gaurav Gaan. The Chief Minister said that the Rural Garden, Surya Mandir, Chhath Ghat, all three are located nearby, due to which the view here has become very attractive. People coming here will enjoy sitting in the garden along with worshiping in the temple. The Chief Minister inaugurated the Health and Wellness Center, Belkhara through remote at a cost of Rs 75 lakh. After the inauguration, the Chief Minister inspected the Health and Wellness Center and took stock of the investigation house, medicine distribution center, ward and model vaccination center. The officials apprised the Chief Minister of the medical system and other facilities provided for the patients at the Health and Wellness Center, Belkhara.

The Chief Minister inaugurated the sports complex constructed at Belkhara at a cost of Rs 9.95 lakh. During this, the Chief Minister also interacted with the players. The players expressed their gratitude to the Chief Minister for building the sports complex and applauded him. The Chief Minister observed the stalls set up by Jeevika Didi and various departments. During this, the Chief Minister while talking to Jeevika Didi said that I am very happy to meet you all. All of you are doing a very good job by joining Jeevika Self Help Group. Earlier, the number of self-help groups in Bihar was very less. We started the work of increasing the number of self-help groups by taking a loan from the World Bank in the year 2006. We named the self-help group as Jeevika and now we all call the women associated with it as Jeevika Didi.

Impressed by our work, the then Central Government of that time named it Ajeevika across the country. Wherever we go, we definitely meet Jeevika Didi. Women are becoming self-reliant by joining Jeevika Self Help Group. There has been a change in their dressing and speech as well. The number of Jeevika sisters in Bihar has now reached 1 crore 36 lakhs. We have started forming Jeevika self-help groups in urban areas as well. So far, three and a half lakh women have joined the self-help groups. We are constantly working for the upliftment of women. All of you stay confident, whatever your needs are, they will be fulfilled. While giving instructions to the District Magistrate, the Chief Minister said that whatever problems the Jeevika sisters have, solve them immediately. Many congratulations to all of you.

During the stall inspection, the Chief Minister gave a symbolic cheque of Rs 5 crore 70 lakh 40 thousand 879 to 792 beneficiaries under the Sustainable Livelihood Scheme for livelihood promotion, a symbolic cheque of Rs 85 crore 85 lakh under bank loan distribution to 3515 self-help groups supported by livelihood, the keys of the pond allotted to Ganga Jeevika Mahila Gram Sangathan, renovated in Simuara village under Jal-Jeevan-Hariyali Abhiyan, to the beneficiaries. Apart from this, a symbolic cheque of Rs 1 lakh grant amount under the Chief Minister's Disabled Marriage Promotion Scheme and Chief Minister's Inter-Caste Marriage Promotion Scheme, a symbolic cheque of Rs 4 lakh for Bihar Start-up under the Chief Minister's Entrepreneur Scheme, a symbolic cheque of Rs 1 lakh under the Chief Minister's Gram Parivahan Scheme, settlement certificate of government land to eligible category beneficiaries, Bihar Student Credit Card etc. were given to the beneficiaries. The Chief Minister inspected the site of the road to be constructed from the proposed Batt Stand to Baidarabad under Arwal Municipal Council area, whose total length is 4.45 km and the estimated cost is Rs 460.965 lakh. After the completion of the construction work of this road, about 50 thousand population of Ashwal Bazar, Malhi Patti and Baidarabad Bazar and the business class of Baidarabad Bazar will also be benefited, this will also provide relief to the people from the problem of traffic jam in Arwal and Baidarabad market. Through the site map, the officials gave detailed information to the Chief Minister regarding the approved road east Arwal bus stand.
