CM Nitish Kumar Inaugurates and Lays Foundation for ₹241.20 Crore Development Projects in Jehanabad

Chief Minister Shri Nitish Kumar today inaugurated and laid the foundation stone of a total of BB developmental schemes worth Rs 241.20 crore from the Government Other Backward Classes Residential Girls 10+2 High School Campus in Dharhara village of Kako block of Jehanabad district through remote in the course of Pragati Yatra. These include the inauguration of 55 schemes worth Rs 154.72 crore and the foundation stone laying of 33 schemes worth Rs 86.48 crore.

The Chief Minister today took stock of developmental schemes at various places in Jehanabad district. During this, the Chief Minister unveiled the stone plaque and inaugurated the Government Other Backward Classes Residential Girls 10+2 High School, Dharhara at a cost of Rs 4635.28 lakh by cutting the ribbon. After the inauguration, the Chief Minister inspected various parts of the administrative and educational building of the school and inquired about the arrangements there. The Chief Minister talked to the girls and said that they should study properly with enthusiasm in life. The girls welcomed the Chief Minister by clapping. The Chief Minister also took information about the hostel mess built in the school premises.

After this, the Chief Minister inspected various departmental stalls. The Chief Minister inspected the stalls of the Industries Department, Agriculture Department, Animal and Fisheries Resources Department, Social Welfare Department, Backward and Extremely Backward Welfare Department, Scheduled Caste and Scheduled Tribe Welfare Department and Education Department. During this, he provided symbolic cheques to the beneficiaries of the Chief Minister's Entrepreneur Scheme, Startup Scheme, Chief Minister's Disabled Marriage Promotion Scheme, Scheduled Caste-Scheduled Tribe (Atrocities) Prevention Act, Chief Minister's Fisheries Marketing Scheme and Student Credit Card, Garden Scheme, beneficiaries of the scheme operated under the Revenue and Land Reforms Department. He provided a symbolic cheque of Rs 1 crore 36 lakh to the beneficiaries under the Bihar Laghu Udyam Yojana.

The Chief Minister took information about the various activities and products being done by the Jeevika Didis of the Self Help Group for livelihood. The Chief Minister provided a symbolic cheque of Rs 4 crore to 811 self-help groups under the Sustainable Livelihood Scheme. The Chief Minister also saw the various products displayed at the stall of Jeevika Didi and talked to them. The Chief Minister said that in the year 2006, when we got the opportunity to work in Bihar, we saw that the number of self-help groups here was negligible.

We started increasing the number of self-help groups by taking a loan from the World Bank. We named the self-help group as Jeevika, inspired by which the then Central Government named it Ajeevika. We named the women associated with Jeevika as Jeevika Didi. Self-help groups are also being expanded in urban areas. By joining self-help groups, women are becoming self-reliant and self-dependent. This has improved the economic condition of the women of Bihar a lot. Their dressing and speech have also become very good. They have started talking to people without hesitation. I congratulate all of you Jeevika Didi for doing good work, you all should move ahead and progress a lot.

Jeevika didis thanked the Chief Minister and said that our lives have improved due to you, we have got a new identity. Our family and social condition has improved a lot, all this is your contribution. The Chief Minister told the District Magistrate to pay special attention to implementing the schemes being run for the upliftment of Jeevika didis.

The Chief Minister inaugurated the Gandhi Park built at a cost of Rs 13.90 lakh in Dharhara under the Jal-Jeevan-Hariyali Abhiyan. After the inauguration, the Chief Minister inspected the Gandhi Park, during which he saw the newly constructed well constructed under the Jal-Jeevan-Hariyali Abhiyan. The Chief Minister observed the big pond built under the Jal Jeevan Hariyali Abhiyan. During this, the Chief Minister said that stairs should be constructed around it so that people can walk around it and enjoy it. Provide other facilities including boating to the tourists coming here.

After this, the Chief Minister inaugurated the newly constructed building of Upkramit Plus Two High School costing Rs 103.76 lakh in Kazisarai village of Kako block by cutting the ribbon and unveiling the stone plaque. After the inauguration, the Chief Minister inspected the school and while talking to the students there, told them to study well and move forward. The Chief Minister was saluted by the NCC cadets present there. The Chief Minister inaugurated the sports ground costing Rs 9.56 lakh by cutting the ribbon and unveiling the stone plaque. After the inauguration, the Chief Minister started the game by providing the ball to the players present there and encouraged them.

After this, the Chief Minister inspected the site of the proposed ROB near the underpass located at Raja Bazar in Jehanabad city and gave necessary instructions to the officials. The officials informed the Chief Minister about the construction work of ROB connecting NH-33 to NH-83.

The Chief Minister inspected the site of the proposed Indoor Badminton Stadium cum Sports Complex at Malhchak and saw the model of its construction work. During this, the Chief Minister said that it should be built in a better way so that the players get all kinds of facilities and they can take advantage of it. The Chief Minister met the players present there and encouraged them.
