CM Yogi Promises Financial Support for Patients Without Ayushman Cards

Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath on Wednesday promised full financial support to patients suffering from serious illnesses who don’t have Ayushman Bharat health cards.

Speaking at the Janata Darshan held at the Gorakhnath Temple complex in Gorakhpur, CM Yogi asked officials to immediately prepare treatment cost estimates for such patients so they can receive help through the Chief Minister’s Discretionary Fund. He made it clear that no one should be denied medical care just because they can’t afford it.

“The government will take care of your treatment—just get an estimate from the doctor,” he told a woman who had come seeking help.

He also instructed officials to make sure that Ayushman Bharat health cards are issued quickly to everyone who is eligible.

Over 200 people came to share their concerns during the public meeting, and the Chief Minister personally handed over their applications to the concerned departments, urging quick and satisfactory solutions. He reminded officials to treat every complaint seriously and ensure no genuine issue is left unresolved.

Taking stock of the recent pre-monsoon rains, he told officials to act fast to prevent waterlogging, and asked for updates on the long-delayed Gordhiya Drain project. He also pressed the municipal corporation for answers about drainage measures and stressed the need for cleanliness to avoid flooding.

Later, in a review meeting, CM Yogi looked into the progress of various development projects under the Gorakhpur Industrial Development Authority (GIDA), the Gorakhpur Development Authority (GDA), and the municipal corporation. He also asked about the status of the much-awaited Heritage Corridor project.

He wrapped up the visit by asking officials to keep an eye on the growth of roadside slums, verify street vendors to avoid traffic issues, and take strict action against land encroachment and any illegal activities.
