Coast Guard detains three Sri Lankan nationals for illegal entry attempt

The Indian Coast Guard apprehended three Sri Lankan nationals on Saturday who were trying to enter the country illegally, according to a Defence Ministry statement.

During a routine patrol around 8:00 AM, the Coast Guard’s hovercraft ACV H197 spotted the group near the 4th Island. The team quickly moved in and detained the three individuals.

All three were identified as Sri Lankan nationals trying to migrate illegally from Mannar after interrogation. After being transported to Mandapam, they were turned over to the Tamil Nadu Marine Police for additional examination.
