Concert scene set to soar: Assam partners with BookMyShow for international events

The Assam government has teamed up with Bigtree Entertainment, the company behind the popular online ticketing platform BookMyShow, to bring national and international music concerts to the state.

At an official event on Tuesday, Assam Tourism Development Corporation (ATDC) signed an agreement with Bigtree Entertainment in the presence of Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma. Sarma shared on social media, “Assam is set to become the next big destination for concerts and events, with BookMyShow as the go-to platform for all ticketing needs. This partnership will make buying tickets easier and more accessible.”

The Chief Minister called this collaboration a “new beginning” for Assam’s cultural scene, aiming to position the state as a vibrant hub for global entertainment. He highlighted that this move will boost Assam’s concert economy, opening up fresh opportunities for young people and tourism.

“Beyond our natural beauty and heritage, Assam’s growing music and concert scene will create a whole new avenue for tourism and youth engagement,” Sarma said. He added that with improved hospitality and developing venue infrastructure in Guwahati, Assam is ready to host international concerts. Cities like Dibrugarh and other parts of the state also have great potential to expand this concert culture beyond the capital.
