Congress MLA Criticizes Uttarakhand Govt for Failing to Develop Infrastructure After Modi’s Visit to Adi Kailash

Uttarakhand Congress legislator has said that Prime Minister Narendra Modi's coming to Adi Kailash two years ago resulted into heavy tourists flow in the region but Pushkar Singh Dhami government failed to construct a sewerline and develop infrastructure to meet needed civic amenities. Congress MLA from Dharchula Harish Dhami thanked Modi but alleged that state government has not even developed sewer line to meet thr challanges of rising tourist inflow in his constituency.
"Foot fall of the devotees in Dharchula increased manifold after Prime Minister Narendra Modi's visit to Adi Kailash. I thank Modi for providing a new direction to the tourism in our area but there are no infrastructure to deal with crowd flow. At least a sewer line must be constructed there" said senior Congress MLA Harish Dhami speaking in Uttarakhand assembly responding to cabinet minister Rekha Arya's statement on urban development works done by Pushkar Singh Dhami government in the state.
Harish Dhami said he and people in his constituency were indebted to Modi but the state government has failed to provide infrastructure to meet the challanges of civic facilities resulting from heavy influx of tourists.
One year has gone since the Munsyari Municipal Panchayat was constituted but not a single development works has taken place there. In his reaction to the minister's statement in the assembly during special session of the house Congress MLA had further alleged, "I had been trying hard for 15 years to construct adequate sewerage system in Dharchula but not a single works has been done yet."
Later outside the assembly Congress MLA told UNI "All newly elected ward members of Munsyari Municipal Panchayat are persistently complaining that no work was done so far despite persistent reminders to the local administration. Even Prime Minister's visit failed the state government to meet public demand demand" Dhami said outside the assembly.
Harish Dhami's praise for Prime Minister and condemnation against state government came in the special session of the statr assembly during discussion 25 years' achievement and future goals on Wednesday.
Its notable that Narendra Modi in his visit to Pithoragarh on October 12, 2023 had made stay near mount Adi Kailash pilgrimage centre and meditated in front of the peak. He was the first sitting prime minister to visit Adi Kailash Temle and Parvati Kund in Pithoragarh.
Pushkar Singh Dhami government too had been claiming that after Prime Minister's visit tourists' foot falls in the area increased manifolds. However opposition MLA complaimed that no infrastructural support has been created to meet the rising civic facility demamds due to tourists inflow.
