Delhi Government to honour Dr. M.S. Tomar for contributions to child health and education on Delhi Foundation Day

On the occasion of Delhi Foundation Day 2025, the Delhi Government will host a grand felicitation ceremony at the Red Fort complex to honour distinguished individuals who have made significant contributions to the capital’s development and the nation’s progress.

Among the awardees is Dr. M.S. Tomar, a noted pediatrician and Director of Global Children’s Hospital, Delhi, who will be recognised for his outstanding contributions to the field of education and child healthcare.

A native of Jhakhonagadhi village in Morena district, Madhya Pradesh, Dr. Tomar has been actively involved in providing affordable medical care and quality education to children from economically weaker backgrounds. Over the years, he has organised numerous health awareness and social outreach programmes, focusing on improving access to pediatric care and preventive health education.

Officials said the honour acknowledges not only Dr. Tomar’s professional excellence but also his social commitment. “This recognition is a matter of pride not just for Delhi but also for Morena and the entire state of Madhya Pradesh,” a Delhi government statement said.

The ceremony will be attended by senior Delhi government officials, public representatives, social workers, and prominent personalities from various fields.

Earlier this week, Dr. Tomar also participated in a special programme on All India Radio, Delhi, held to mark Polio Eradication Awareness Day, where he spoke about the importance of vaccination and measures for polio prevention.

The Delhi Government’s Foundation Day honours are presented annually to individuals whose work embodies the spirit of public service and contributes to the capital’s social, cultural, and developmental growth.
