Delhi Teachers University Unveils Innovative Faculty Development Program on Indian Knowledge Systems

Delhi Teachers University (DeTU) announces a groundbreaking Faculty Development & Enrichment Program titled "नूतन आयाम: विकसित भारत @2047 के आलोक में भारतीय ज्ञान परंपरा" (New Dimensions: Indian Knowledge Traditions in the Light of Developed India @2047). This online program, held from January 8th to 12th, 2024, aims to bridge the gap between traditional Indian wisdom and contemporary education, aligning with the University Grants Commission (UGC) directives following NEP 2020. The program is organized under the esteemed guidance of Prof. Dhananjay Joshi, the Honorable Vice Chancellor of DeTU.
Professor Hrushikesh Senapaty, a renowned figure in education and former Director of NCERT, will grace the inaugural session as the distinguished guest. Throughout the week-long program, twelve sessions featuring prominent academicians will delve into the principles, concepts, and potential of Indian Knowledge Systems (IKS). The program explores the historical evolution of IKS and emphasizes its relevance in today's educational landscape. Key highlights include sessions on Vedic literature, Upanishads, Darshanas, the Gurukul system of education, and adapting traditional teaching methods to modern classrooms.
Ms. Trishala Bhaskar (Assistant Professor, DeTU) and Dr. Sonal Chabra (Assistant Professor, DeTU) played pivotal roles in conceptualizing this event.
