Dust Storm, Rain Lash Delhi-NCR; IMD Issues Yellow Alert

A sudden dust storm rolled through Delhi-NCR on Friday evening, followed by a spell of rain that coated the region in dust and disrupted daily routines. The India Meteorological Department (IMD) had issued a warning for light to moderate rain, thunderstorms, and strong, dust-filled winds.
Videos and photos shared on social media showed rain falling over busy roads in Delhi, offering some much-needed relief from the intense summer heat. Similar weather conditions were reported in other parts of the NCR as well.
In a post on X (formerly Twitter), the IMD said: “Light to moderate rainfall accompanied by light thunderstorms and lightning, with gusty winds (30-40 km/h), is very likely at isolated places in Delhi-NCR over the next two hours.”
Looking ahead, the IMD forecasts maximum temperatures in Delhi to hover between 40°C and 41°C over the weekend, with minimum temperatures around 26°C.
