New Delhi: The Web Journalists’ Association of India (WJAI) hosted the Digital Bharat Summit 2025 on Saturday at the Radisson Blu Hotel in Dwarka, New Delhi. Organised in collaboration with Prime Time Research Media Pvt. Ltd., the event brought together distinguished figures from diverse fields including education, health, tourism, public relations, and journalism. The programme also highlighted the foundation, objectives, and growing influence of WJAI, earning widespread appreciation from attendees.

Legendary cricketer Sunil Gavaskar, present as the chief guest, lauded the efforts of WJAI and felicitated national president Anand Kaushal, renowned Bhagalpur-based mathematics educator G.D. Gyani, and public relations expert Bhaskar Jha for their contributions to society and media.

Former Union Minister Ashwini Choubey, who also graced the occasion, underscored the importance of journalism in society. He praised WJAI for not only working in the interest of journalists across the nation but also making them aware of their responsibilities.

Addressing the gathering, WJAI National President Anand Kaushal said the organisation is committed to providing a strong, accountable platform for digital journalists.

“WJAI is the country’s largest web media organisation and is registered as the first Web Journalists’ Standard Authority (WJSA) under the Ministry of Information & Broadcasting’s Digital Media Ethics Code 2021,” he stated, reinforcing WJAI’s leadership in shaping ethical digital media.

Accepting the honour, Bhaskar Jha, founder of Petridish Media, expressed gratitude, calling the recognition a matter of pride.

“This honour strengthens my belief that when communication is rooted in clarity, credibility, and conscience, it can bring real change,” he said.

Reflecting on his career, he added, “From print to digital and now the age of AI, I have witnessed media evolve. Mediums may change, but the responsibility of truthful and meaningful dialogue remains permanent in journalism.”

Honoured mathematics educator G.D. Gyani from Bhagalpur expressed heartfelt joy and gratitude.

Quoting a powerful proverb, he added, “Education is the lioness’s milk—whoever drinks it will roar. Every child in this country must receive education.”
