Emergency Landing Averts Major Air Mishap in Rourkela, All Passengers Safe

A major plane accident was averted in Rourkela, Odisha, on Saturday afternoon. A small passenger plane flying from Bhubaneswar to Rourkela was forced to make an emergency landing in a field due to a technical fault. Nine people were on board, and they were safely evacuated.
Technical Problem During Flight
According to reports, an India One Air Cessna Grand Caravan EX flight landed in a field near the Jalda Kansar Gadiya Toli area at around 1:40 p.m. The aircraft experienced a technical fault during the flight, prompting the pilot to make an emergency landing.
All Passengers Safe
The plane was carrying 12 passengers and two crew members. There was panic among the passengers during the landing, but it is a matter of relief that no one was killed. The passengers were safely evacuated after the incident.
Damage to Plane on Landing
The front wheel of the plane was damaged during the emergency landing. However, both rear wheels are reported to be intact. The pilot, a crew member, and six passengers sustained minor injuries in the accident and were rushed to the hospital for first aid.
Administration and police arrived at the scene.
After receiving information from Kolkata ATC, the Rourkela district administration was alerted. Superintendent of Police Nitesh Wadhwani arrived at the scene and assessed the situation. DIG Brijesh Rai also left for the scene. Fire brigade and ambulance teams immediately began rescue operations.
Investigation launched
As news of the accident spread, a large crowd of locals gathered at the scene. Police cordoned off the area for security reasons. The administration stated that the aircraft's technical fault is being investigated, and the cause will be clear only after a detailed report.
