Firing Outside Filmmaker Rohit Shetty’s Juhu Residence, Director Unhurt

A sensational shooting incident occurred late on February 1st outside the home of renowned film director-producer Rohit Shetty, who lives in Juhu, Mumbai. Fortunately, Rohit Shetty remained unharmed in the attack. In the complaint filed in this matter, the security guard has claimed that the attacker fired the shots with the intention of killing him.

The name of Shubhan Lonkar of the Lawrence Bishnoi gang has surfaced in this case. Police are currently investigating the matter thoroughly and Rohit Shetty's security has been increased.

Several revelations in the FIR

According to media reports, the complaint filed with the police states that the incident occurred at around 12:45 a.m. on February 1st, 2026. At that time, Rohit Shetty was on the seventh floor of his residence, Shetty Towers, in Juhu. The security guard on duty in the building's lobby was sitting near the CCTV monitor. Bodyguard Waheed Malik was also present with him.

Firing captured on CCTV

According to the complainant, he suddenly heard a sound similar to firecrackers. Suspicious, he immediately checked the CCTV footage, where an unidentified man wearing a black jacket and white pants was seen standing near the compound wall of Shetty Towers, facing Road No. 10. The man was firing a pistol-like weapon in the direction of the building.

The CCTV footage clearly showed that the attacker fired a total of five rounds. Immediately after the shooting, Waheed Malik and Satyam Pathak, another security guard posted at the gate, ran outside, where they saw the same suspect fleeing.

Allegation of Intent to Murder

Following the incident, the security guard informed Police Constable Ashish Rane over the phone. Rane then arrived at the scene and informed the local police. A team from the Juhu Police Station arrived at the scene, and the complainant later went to the police station to file an official complaint.

In the complaint, the security guard clearly stated that he was confident that the unidentified man had fired shots towards Rohit Shetty's house with the intention of killing him. The complaint also states that the statement was typed on a computer in Marathi, which was read to the complainant, and he confirmed it to be true.

Shubham Lonkar's name surfaced

According to Mumbai police sources, the scooter the attacker used to approach Rohit Shetty's house is registered in the name of a Pune resident. The accused, Aditya Gaikwad, had purchased the scooter a few days earlier for ₹30,000. Police say that gangster Shubham Lonkar was responsible for all the arrangements related to purchasing and transporting the vehicle to Mumbai. According to police sources, Shubham Lonkar later instructed the shooter to pick up the scooter and open fire.
