Fisheries Director Reviews Progress of Central and State Schemes in Aurangabad

The Director of Fisheries, Bihar, today held a review meeting of the state and centrally sponsored fisheries schemes being operated under Aurangabad district in his office room located at Vikas Bhawan, Patna. During the meeting, an in-depth analysis of the progress of the schemes from 2022 to the current financial year was done. In this review, the achievements and challenges of other schemes including the Pradhan Mantri Matsya Sampada Yojana were discussed.
During the review, it was found that the amount has not been spent as per the targets set in many components of the Pradhan Mantri Matsya Sampada Yojana. On this, the Director directed the concerned officials to expedite the work. He clarified that the new pond construction and rearing pond construction works should be completed within the stipulated time frame so that the work of release of grant to the beneficiaries can be ensured.
The achievements of the works were also analyzed in the meeting. Under the Pradhan Mantri Matsya Sampada Yojana, the work of pond construction has been completed in 21.55 hectares area in Aurangabad district so far. Apart from this, under the state government's Saat-Nishchay-2 scheme, construction work has been completed in 12 acres of area under the pond construction based fisheries scheme in plateau areas. Despite these achievements, there is still a need to make more efforts towards achieving the target 100 percent.
He directed the District Fisheries Officer to generate applications in accordance with the targets achieved and issue work orders to achieve 100 percent target by selecting beneficiaries through the district level committee. Also, he asked to ensure that the achievement of implementation of schemes is completed within the stipulated time frame.
Strict instructions were given to the officials to further speed up this progress of Aurangabad district in the fisheries sector, so that fishermen and fish farmers can get maximum benefit of these schemes of the government.
District Fisheries Officer, Aurangabad, Deputy Director (State Project Unit), Fisheries Extension Officer, Fisheries Development Officer and Project Coordinator along with other officers were present in this important meeting.
