Former RAW Chief Alok Joshi Appointed Chairman of Reconstituted National Security Advisory Board

Amid the ongoing tension between India-Pakistan, the central government has reconstituted the National Security Advisory Board (NSAB). On Wednesday (30 April), making changes in it, former RAW chief Alok Joshi has been appointed as the chairman of the NSAB. This new seven-member board includes important officials from the armed forces, police service and diplomats. This is considered an important change after the Pahalgam terrorist attack.

Lieutenant General AK Singh, former Southern Army Commander
Rear Admiral Monty Khanna, retired naval officer
Rajeev Ranjan Verma, retired IPS officer
Manmohan Singh, retired IPS officer
B Venkatesh Verma, former Indian Foreign Service (IFS) diplomat
The National Security Advisory Board includes many eminent former officers of the armed forces and civil service. These include Air Marshal PM Sinha and former Southern Army Commander Lieutenant General AK Singh and Rear Admiral Monty Khanna.
The Indian Police Service is represented by retired IPS Rajiv Ranjan Verma and Manmohan Singh. Former Indian Foreign Service (IFS) officer B Venkatesh Verma has also been included in the board.
