Punjab Finance Minister Harpal Singh Cheema today said that the Punjab government's 'War on Drugs' campaign has achieved another big success, when Gurkirat Singh, a resident of Kalanaur in Gurdaspur district, was allegedly caught doing drugs inside the cremation ground. Cheema said that this accused has direct links with the Congress party and photographs of the arrested person with various big leaders of the Congress have also surfaced.

Finance Minister Harpal Singh Cheema said that Punjab knows that when the Akali Dal-BJP was in power in the state or the Congress party was in power, a flood of drugs was unleashed in Punjab at that time. Today, many such people are being arrested continuously who have direct or indirect links with the Congress, Akali Dal and BJP. Cheema said that these parties that have been destroying Punjab are crying today.

Cheema said that the continuous campaign being run by the government of Chief Minister Sardar Bhagwant Singh Mann against drugs is getting success. Drug smugglers are either fleeing from Punjab or going inside the jails. He said that whoever is being caught doing drugs, the government is treating him and making him well.

Finance Minister Cheema said that "the people of Punjab are giving a huge response to our success and it has become a caravan in Punjab today. Lakhs of people are associated with the Punjab government and the Aam Aadmi Party because the government of Sardar Bhagwant Singh Mann is committed to completely eradicating drugs from Punjab."
