Health Minister and Assembly Speaker Inaugurate ₹750 Lakh, 100-Bed Medicine Ward at NMCH

The newly constructed 100-bed ward in the Medicine Department of Nalanda Medical College and Hospital (NMCH) at a cost of Rs 750 lakh was inaugurated by Bihar Government's Health Minister Mr. Mangal Pandey and Assembly Speaker Mr. Nandkishore Yadav. In his address on this occasion, Mr. Nandkishore Yadav said that the health services of Bihar are improving day by day. There is no shortage of medicine supply and doctors in hospitals now. The people of Bihar are getting advanced health services within the state. Health Minister Mr. Mangal Pandey, in his address, first of all saluted the Indian soldiers deployed on the border and paid tribute to the four brave sons of Bihar who were martyred recently. He said that today the honor and respect of the soldiers has increased under the leadership of PM Modi. The country is proud of the brave soldiers.
Mr. Pandey said that the 100-bed medicine ward has been built on the upper floor, which will get rid of the problem of waterlogging during the rainy season. At present, the number of beds in the General Medicine Department is 128. Now with the additional 100, the total number of beds will be 228. There is a plan to add 400 more beds here in the future. At present, there are a total of 1189 beds in NMCH, which were only 650 earlier. The facilities of the hospital are constantly increasing. Now there is a provision of oxygen pipeline on every bed, there is availability of medicine. At the same time, a major improvement has been brought in the quality of service by handing over the responsibility of food and cleanliness to Jeevika Didi. He said that Bihar has been number 1 on the standards of medicine supply for eight months in a row. 496 types of medicines are now available in NMCH. Before 2005, the condition of Bihar in the health sector was very pathetic. In the last 20 years, under the leadership of Honorable Chief Minister Shri Nitish Kumar, unprecedented work has been done in the health sector. Due to which now the common people are getting accessible and better health services.
Mr. Pandey said that the construction work of TVDC (Tuberculosis Training and Demonstration Center) is going on at a fast pace at a cost of Rs 28.34 crore, which will be completed by August 15, 2025. After that it will be formally inaugurated in the month of August. Apart from this, the construction work of TB Medical College is also starting in Kadamkuan at a cost of Rs 204.44 crore. In the last 10 years, projects worth hundreds of crores have been completed in NMCH, such as 350-seat auditorium, de-addiction center, BSc Nursing College, RTPCR lab, cochlear implant facility, modular operation theater and construction of new hostels. Efforts are being made to take health services to the last person through Health and Wellness Center in the panchayats of most of the districts of the state. BSc Nursing College and Hostel were established under Chief Minister 07 Nishchay Yojana from 2019. Appreciating the contribution of Shri Nand Kishore Yadav ji, Shri Pandey said that due to his efforts, there is continuous development in Patna Sahib area.

Sita Sahu, CEO of State Health Security Committee Shri Shashank Shekhar Sinha, Principal of NMCH Prof. Dr. Usha Kumari, Superintendent Dr. Rashmi Prasad, Personal Secretary to the Honorable Health Minister, Mr. Amitabh Singh, along with many dignitaries, public representatives, social workers, political workers, faculty members, students, nursing staff and local people were present.
