Heavy rain lashes Delhi, IMD issues red alert amid storm warning

Delhi and surrounding areas were soaked by heavy rain on Sunday evening, leading the weather department to upgrade its warning from orange to red. Waterlogging was reported in several places, including India Gate and Pragati Maidan, though traffic remained mostly smooth thanks to the weekend.

Over the next few hours, Delhi and the surrounding areas, including parts of Haryana and western Uttar Pradesh, are likely to see more heavy rain, thunderstorms, and strong winds, according to the IMD. Although the humidity has somewhat decreased due to the rain, more disruptions could occur in the days ahead.
