Himachal Pradesh Sets New Benchmark in School Education with English-Medium Initiative

The continuous innovative efforts made by the Himachal Pradesh government in the education sector have resulted in the state becoming one of the leading states in the country in terms of quality of school education.
Under the guidance of Chief Minister Thakur Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu, the new initiatives being undertaken in the state's school education system have not only ignited the flame of better education in rural and remote areas, but are also fulfilling the dream of poor children to receive education in the English medium.
In Bilaspur district, at the Government High School Chuadi in Dakri Gram Panchayat of Ghumarwin sub-division, rural children are being provided education in the English medium. Equipped with modern facilities, the school provides children with smart classrooms, an IT lab, a modern library, Wi-Fi, and many other amenities.
Along with this, children have also been given the option of receiving education in the English medium. This important step by the government is not only giving children the opportunity to study in English medium, but is also continuously boosting their confidence.
With this initiative of the state government, parents are now finding it more appropriate to educate their children in government schools instead of paying the exorbitant fees of private schools. This has not only reduced the financial burden on parents, but is also providing children with quality education in the English medium along with modern facilities at a lower cost.
In this regard, parents Anita, Anu Sharma, and Mala Sharma say that their children have been studying in this school for the last two to three years. The school has smart classrooms, internet, a library, and excellent sports infrastructure, and the children are receiving education in the English medium.
They say that by getting rid of the expensive fees of private schools, they are educating their children in this government school, where all the facilities like those in private schools are available at a lower cost. Most importantly, children are able to receive English-medium education close to their homes.
Parents have expressed their gratitude to Chief Minister Thakur Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu for making English-medium education available in government schools across the state and have praised the government's decision. They say that this initiative has given new direction to the dreams of poor, rural children who were deprived of better education due to lack of resources.
Students studying at the school, Trisha, Vaishnavi, Woolnath, Harshit, Alisha, Sandhya, Naveen, and Anshul, say that the availability of English-medium education has increased their confidence.
The school's headmistress, Bhavna, says that keeping in mind the current needs of the children, the school offers the option of receiving education in both Hindi and English mediums. The school is fully operational in digital mode, with smart classrooms, Wi-Fi, computer education, and excellent infrastructure for sports and other activities.
In addition, students are encouraged to participate in English speaking courses and prepare for competitive examinations.
Local MLA CUM Minister of Town and Country Planning, Housing, Technical Education, Vocational and Industrial Training in the state government, Rajesh Dharmani, said that the state government has fulfilled one of its important guarantees by providing the option of English medium in government schools.
With this decision, children in rural areas are now also getting the facility of receiving English-medium education in government schools near their homes.
He said that the state government's objective is to provide quality education to children living in rural and remote areas near their homes.
Under the leadership of Chief Minister Thakur Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu, the state government has taken several important and historic decisions in this direction, including making English-medium education available.
