IAF Trainer Aircraft Crashes Into Pond in Prayagraj, Pilots Eject Safely After Mid-Air Malfunction

Panic gripped the posh Sangam city of Prayagraj when an Indian Air Force trainee aircraft, after experiencing a technical malfunction, crashed into a pond near KP College. Fortunately, both pilots on board managed to eject safely in time.
According to eyewitnesses, the pilots displayed immense courage and presence of mind, diverting the aircraft away from the residential area and toward the pond, averting a massive loss of life. The accident reportedly occurred approximately 3 kilometers from the Magh Mela.
A 'shell' seen falling from the sky during the afternoon
The incident occurred during the afternoon when the small Air Force aircraft was on a routine training flight. Suddenly, the aircraft experienced a malfunction in its engine and began a rapid descent.
Locals observed the aircraft flying very low and, within seconds, it plunged into the pond near KP College.
As soon as the plane crashed, a loud noise was heard, and people in the area rushed to the scene to rescue and protect the pilots.
Pilots got a 'save of life' after falling into a pond
The plane's speed slowed down as it crashed into the pond, allowing the pilots to eject. Both pilots ejected from the plane immediately after the accident.
With the help of local residents and a rescue team that arrived shortly after, they brought both pilots to safety. Air Force officials have confirmed that both pilots are safe and have been taken to the hospital for first aid.

The location of the accident is a busy area of Prayagraj. KP College and several residential buildings are nearby. Had the plane crashed into a building or road, a large number of people could have been injured.
Police and Air Force officials say that the pilots tried to control the plane until the last moment and took it to an empty area, which demonstrates their bravery.
Air Force orders a Court of Inquiry
Senior Air Force officers and technical teams arrived at the scene upon receiving information about the accident. Efforts have begun to retrieve the wreckage of the aircraft from the pond.
Air Force Headquarters has ordered a Court of Inquiry to determine the cause of the accident. Initially, engine failure or some other technical fault is suspected.

As news of the crash spread, thousands of people gathered at the scene, temporarily hampering rescue efforts. Police immediately took charge, cordoning off the area and warning people to stay away from the wreckage of the crashed aircraft.
