ICICI Bank Partners with Tata Memorial to Build India’s Largest Radiation Therapy Centre in Navi Mumbai

ICICI Bank has partnered with Tata Memorial Centre to construct the country’s largest radiation therapy facility in Navi Mumbai at an estimated cost of Rs 625 crore. The state-of-the-art cancer treatment, research, and training centre is being developed under the bank’s Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiative to establish advanced oncology hospitals across three Indian cities in collaboration with Tata Memorial Centre.

The ambitious project, titled ICICI Foundation Block for Radiation Oncology, will comprise an eleven-storey structure spread across 3.4 lakh square feet, including two basements and a ground floor. The facility will house twelve advanced LINAC machines designed to deliver highly precise radiation therapy. Construction will be overseen by the ICICI Foundation for Inclusive Growth, with completion targeted for 2027.

Once operational, the new centre will provide radiotherapy to approximately 7,200 patients annually and conduct over two lakh treatment sessions. In addition, it will offer outpatient consultation and diagnostic facilities for nearly 25,000 new patients every year.

The foundation stone for the centre was laid in the presence of ICICI Bank Chairman Pradeep Kumar Sinha, Executive Director Sandeep Batra, and Tata Memorial Centre Director Dr. Sudeep Gupta.

Sinha stated that the initiative reflects ICICI Bank’s commitment to strengthening the country’s public health infrastructure and ensuring that advanced cancer treatment becomes accessible to citizens from all walks of life. Batra disclosed that a total allocation of Rs 1,800 crore has been made for the three upcoming cancer centres in Visakhapatnam, Malanpur, and Navi Mumbai.

Dr. Gupta noted that these new centres would expand access to modern cancer care, particularly benefiting underprivileged patients, and would bring transformational progress in the treatment of blood cancers across all age groups, from children to adults. Doctors C. S. Parmesh and Pankaj Chaturvedi described the initiative as a historic step forward in India’s cancer treatment, research, and training ecosystem.
