Abhay Singh, popularly known as ‘IITian Baba’ after gaining attention during Mahakumbh 2025, has entered a new phase of life by getting married and returning to a family setup. The young man, who had earlier embraced a spiritual path, recently tied the knot with engineer Pratika and brought her home to his family in Haryana.

Hailing from Jhajjar, Abhay Singh studied aerospace engineering at IIT Bombay before choosing a life of spirituality. His appearance in saffron robes and simple lifestyle during Mahakumbh had drawn widespread attention.

According to reports, Abhay and Pratika, who is originally from Karnataka and also an engineer, met about a year ago. Pratika said she was drawn to his simplicity and honesty, which led to their decision to build a life together.

The couple got married on February 15 at the Aghanjar Mahadev Temple in Dharamshala, Himachal Pradesh, followed by a court marriage on February 19. The ceremony was kept private, with Abhay stating that they preferred to begin their new journey quietly.

After returning home to Jhajjar, the couple received a warm welcome from Abhay’s family. His mother performed traditional rituals, including aarti and tilak, to welcome her daughter-in-law, while family members expressed happiness over his decision.

Explaining his shift from renunciation to family life, Abhay said that while spirituality helped him understand deeper truths, he believes that serving society and promoting Sanatan traditions can also be achieved while living as a householder. The couple is currently residing in Dharamshala.

They have also expressed plans to establish a ‘Sanatan University’ in the future, aiming to bring together spirituality, learning and seekers on a common platform.

Abhay Singh’s transition from a spiritual ascetic figure to a married life has sparked discussion, with many viewing it as a personal evolution rather than a departure from his beliefs.
