India AI Summit 2026 Reaches Crucial Final Day

World leaders and top artificial intelligence figures gathered at Bharat Mandapam in New Delhi today for the climactic fifth day of the India AI Impact Summit 2026, where a historic Leaders' Declaration is set to be adopted, cementing a shared global road map for responsible AI governance.

The Leaders' Declaration — the summit's centrepiece outcome — will formally affirm collective commitments from participating nations on inclusive and responsible AI development. Alongside the adoption ceremony, High-level GPAI (Global Partnership on AI) Council Meetings are scheduled, with member countries reviewing multilateral cooperation progress and charting the course ahead.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi formally inaugurated the summit on Wednesday, welcoming a remarkable gathering of over 500 AI leaders from across the world. The attendee list reads like a who's who of the global tech ecosystem — more than 100 founders and CEOs, 150 academicians and researchers, and nearly 400 Chief Technical Officers.

Such has been the enthusiasm surrounding the event that the India AI Impact Expo — running alongside the summit — has been extended by an additional day. Exhibitors, innovators, and visitors will have until tomorrow to explore the latest breakthroughs on display, reflecting India's growing ambition to position itself at the centre of the global AI conversation.
