Jamia Millia Islamia Suspends MoUs with Turkey Citing ‘National Security’ Concerns, Following JNU

Jamia Millia Islamia on Thursday announced the suspension of all its Memorandums of Understanding (MoUs) with institutions affiliated with the Turkish government, citing concerns over national security.

In an official statement, the university said the decision comes in light of recent developments involving Turkey’s support to Pakistan, particularly its supply of drones and arms during a period of heightened tensions with India.

“Due to national security considerations, any MoU between Jamia Millia Islamia, New Delhi, and any institution linked to the Government of the Republic of Türkiye is hereby suspended with immediate effect, until further notice. Jamia Millia Islamia stands firmly with the nation,” the university stated.
