"There was a time when some said the Ram temple would cause unrest," he acknowledged, "but they could not understand the strength of our nation's social fabric."

"The legal battle over Lord Ram's existence went on for decades," he said. "I would like to express my gratitude to the judiciary of India for upholding justice."
