Man Declared Dead by Kanpur Hospital Found Alive at Home, Shocks Uttar Pradesh’s Kannauj

A startling incident from Uttar Pradesh's Kannauj district has raised serious questions over medical procedures after a man declared dead by doctors at a private hospital in Kanpur was later found alive at his home.
The incident took place in Gurusahai Ganj town, where the victim, a shopkeeper residing on Tirwa Road, reportedly fell ill on the evening of December 31 while sitting near a bonfire outside his house. Suspecting a serious medical condition, his family rushed him to a local private hospital, from where he was referred to Kanpur due to his critical state.
His family rushed him to a local private hospital, from where he was referred to Kanpur due to his critical condition. He was admitted to a private hospital in Kanpur and was kept on ventilator support.
Family members allege that on January 2, around 6 pm, doctors at the Kanpur hospital declared him dead and asked them to take the body away. As the news of his death reached home, the family was devastated. Crying and mourning, they brought the "body" back to Gurusahai Ganj. Since it was late at night and the last rites were planned for the next morning, the family arranged a deep freezer from the municipal authorities to preserve the body.
Relatives and neighbors had gathered at the house when something completely unexpected happened. About half an hour later, family members noticed slight movement in the man's hands and legs. At first, they thought it was an illusion, but soon the movements increased, and clear signs of breathing were visible.
Panic and shock spread as the family realized that the man was alive. When they checked, his body was warm, and his pulse was present.
Without wasting any time, the family rushed him back to the hospital in Kanpur, where he was admitted again for treatment. Doctors confirmed that he was alive. His condition is currently critical but stable, and he is undergoing treatment.
This incident has not only strengthened people's faith in God but has also triggered anger against the Kanpur hospital for allegedly declaring the patient dead without proper examination.
Locals say that if the freezer had not been arranged promptly or if there had been more delay, a living person could have been cremated. The entire area is now praying for his complete recovery, while questions are being raised about medical responsibility and negligence.
