A man allegedly shot his girlfriend and then himself inside a car in Noida on Saturday afternoon, police said. Both were found dead at the scene.

The incident took place on Sector 107 Road under the jurisdiction of Sector 39 police station.

Police recovered a pistol and cartridges from the vehicle where the two bodies were discovered. The deceased man and woman were residents of Trilokpuri in Delhi.

The bodies have been taken into custody and sent for postmortem examination.

Police have begun an investigation to ascertain the circumstances leading to the incident. The motive behind the apparent murder-suicide remains unclear.
