Massive Dust Storm Hits Delhi-NCR with Rain and Winds Reaching 79 kmph

Delhi-NCR swept through as a fierce dust storm rolled in, catching many by surprise in the Wednesday evening. Within minutes, strong winds swept through the region, lifting thick clouds of dust into the air and reducing visibility to a near blur. People on the roads scrambled for cover, and in some areas, brief spells of rain added to the sudden shift in weather.

Meteorologists at the India Meteorological Department (IMD) said the storm was caused by a cyclonic circulation over neighbouring Haryana. This system is part of a larger weather pattern — an east-west trough running from Punjab all the way to Bangladesh — and it’s drawing in moisture from both the Arabian Sea and the Bay of Bengal, creating the perfect mix for unstable and unpredictable weather.
