Media Coverage of Sonam Raghuvanshi Case Raises Questions About Balanced Reporting on Women's Issues

These days, discussions about Sonam Raghuvanshi are common. Raja Raghuvanshi was murdered, definitely it is not a matter of discussion but a matter of thinking that with the changing times, this very disgusting form of society is coming to the fore. Be it a man or a woman.

What is the reason behind this distorted form of society that is coming to the fore! Who is responsible for this? This needs to be stopped. But how? Are we not compromising with our own culture and family background which we carry with our traditions? Why don't we raise our children in such a way that the basic structure of the society, originality, tradition moves forward with tolerance and give importance to every relationship.

The brutal murder of Raja Raghuvanshi is not just a topic, it is alarming. It is challenging. On which the whole country needs to think together, rising above caste and religion, this is a topic worth thinking about.

But since 22nd May, the media of the whole country is continuously engaged in Sonam Raghuvanshi and her news, be it morning, night or afternoon. Whenever you open a Hindi news channel, there is only one news Sonam Raghuvanshi. Did no incident happen in the country during this time? Was no daughter sacrificed during this time? Did daughters not fall prey to dowry seekers during this time? Weren't women brutally murdered during this time? Did the people living below the poverty line come above the poverty line during this time? Did the GDP rate of the Government of India increase or decrease during this time? Development rate? Did the price of petrol increase or decrease? Did the standard of living of the common people rise? Did no such good news come in the whole country during this time! Which should be ensured to reach the common man through the media or shown on television. That success story which works as a guide for the youth of the country. And build a golden future for the youth.

It is worth thinking how the media is preparing the youth of today and the children of today who are going to be the youth of the future.

If it has to be shown, then why show it in the case of one Sonam Raghuvanshi? Rather, along with Sonam Raghuvanshi, the daughters who have become scapegoats and have ruined their lives by getting trapped in the illusion of some man or the other. And the girls of the country need to learn a lesson from that. Those women and girls who have become victims of dowry. What action did the police take in that? How much help was given to those daughters. Media must also show this impartially, so that issues like dowry harassment, child marriage can be stopped.

The dirty mentality of men, whether it is the work field, whether it is the private sector, in whatever form women are working, they have to go through the "chip mentality" of men. Media needs to talk about these issues as well. Media should talk about these topics through its various mediums.

So that such men who are spoiling the society and such women who are spoiling the society, get exposed. Men with "chip mentality" should definitely be shown through media. Those who make women the target of their anger.

There is a need that along with respect for men, women should also be respected equally in the society, so that a clean and healthy society can be created.
