Molestation Attempt on Trainee Doctor in Coimbatore Sparks Outrage and Security Reforms

The rape and murder of a woman doctor in Kolkata has rocked the country, but this time another incident has taken place in Coimbatore, Tamil Nadu. A female doctor in Coimbatore has alleged molestation. According to the information, the trainee doctor at Coimbatore Medical College and Hospital alleged that there was an attempt to molest her.

According to the victim, when she went to park her two-wheeler in front of the Dean's office at around 9 pm on August 14, a young man present there made obscene gestures. This scared the victim. As soon as she started screaming, the young man ran away from there and the victim also went to her hostel room for safety.

On the complaint of the victim, the police arrested the accused Mayank Galar at around 1 am. Mayank is a resident of Madhya Pradesh and he had come to the hospital for a health checkup. On August 15, trainee doctors also protested demanding security. The accused has been sent to jail.

After the complaint and protest about the CCTV camera not working, the CMO has issued an order to check and repair all the 200 CCTV cameras installed in the campus with immediate effect. Night security has been further increased around the hostel. Instructions have been issued for immediate repair and regular maintenance of the women's washroom inside the hospital so that women do not have to come to the hostel at night for the washroom. After this incident, the surveillance of the Medical College and Hospital has been increased.
