Munger Division Industry-Institute Meet 2025 Sees 24 Companies Sign MoUs with Technical Colleges

The Industry-Institute Meet 2025 of Munger division was held on May 30, 2025, where representatives from over 30 industries, government polytechnic institutes, and government engineering colleges of Munger division actively participated. The Industry-Institute Meet was successfully hosted at Government Engineering College, Jamui, with esteemed dignitaries including Shri Ahmad Mahmood, Additional Secretary-cum-Director, Department of Science, Technology and Technical Education, Bihar, and Mr. Mitesh Kumar Sandilya, GM, D.I.C.

This initiative aimed to strengthen collaboration between technical education and industries, providing career-building opportunities for students. The event commenced with a formal welcome by Dr. Ashish Kumar, Principal, GEC, Jamui, followed by Saraswati Vandana and lamp lighting to mark the occasion.

Shri Ahmad Mahmood, Additional Secretary-cum-Director, DSTTE, stressed the department's achievements, highlighting key milestones in technical education and infrastructure development. He emphasized the critical role of industry collaborations in bridging the gap between academia and industries, fostering student innovation, research, skill development, and employability.

He presented a strategic roadmap, highlighting the latest policies to enhance technical education, including revamping course structures to meet industry demands, signing more MoUs with industries for enhanced collaboration, promoting startups and entrepreneurship through incubation centers, and integrating students into industrial training and research programs.

He also apprised the industry representatives about the department's significant initiatives, schemes, and facilities available in government engineering colleges and polytechnic institutes in the field of technical education and reiterated the government’s initiative of keeping tuition fees affordable, with engineering colleges charging only ₹10/month and polytechnic institutes ₹5/month.

During the event, Shri Ahmad Mahmood, Additional Secretary-cum-Director, inaugurated the Music Club at GEC Jamui for promoting creative development and launched 'Aarambh 3.0', the Annual Fest of GEC Jamui, highlighting student holistic development through academic, cultural, and extracurricular initiatives.

He emphasized that the department would organize a larger-level industry meet at the state level in Patna and this was the last commissionary-level industry meet. He also highlighted several initiatives, including:

- Establishment of Planetariums in Jamui, Motihari, and Purnea

- Language labs already functional in all 84 Government Engineering and Polytechnic Institutes of Bihar

- Launch of foreign languages training in Japanese, German, and French in all institutions

- Mentor-mentee concept to combat drug menace

- Internship stipend scheme for Engineering Students and Internship management portal to be launched soo

He concluded by emphasizing that there is no shortcut to success. Wishing all the best to the students, he congratulated the Principal, GEC Jamui, TPO Cell, and all the faculty members of GEC, Jamui, as well as the DSTTE team, for organizing the event so meticulously and efficiently.

Mr. Mitesh Kumar Sandilya, GM, D.I.C., said that the Industry-Institute Meet would facilitate employment, self-employment, and entrepreneurship among students, and such programs would boost start-ups and innovation. He highlighted that interactions between industry and academia are crucial for shaping the future of students and preparing them for the workforce.

Shri Sunil Kumar Singh, Chairman of Jamui Tourism, Bihar Industries Association, highlighted the importance of industrial opportunities and technical manpower utilization for Bihar's growth and presented on Jamui tourism's potential for economic development.

During the session, Robo Manthan Pvt Ltd, Eco Space, and twenty-four other major industries signed Memoranda of Understanding (MoUs) with institutions of the Munger division. These agreements would offer internship and placement programs for students, facilitate collaborative research between industries and institutions, and incorporate industry-led guidance into B.Tech & M.Tech projects, and host technical workshops and symposiums for knowledge exchange.

The event concluded with a Vote of Thanks, followed by the distribution of mementos to esteemed guests and industry representatives.

The Industry-Institute Meet 2025 marked a crucial step in strengthening academic-industry partnerships in Munger Division, ensuring students gain industry exposure, hands-on experience, and global career competencies. The initiative reinforces Bihar’s vision of accessible, affordable, and industry-aligned education, ensuring students are ready for emerging opportunities in India and abroad.
