NDA CMs Pass Resolution Applauding Operation Sindoor and Armed Forces' Bravery

Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Sunday praised the success of Operation Sindoor, describing it as a testament to India’s growing strength and achievements in the defence sector. He was speaking at a high-level meeting of chief ministers and deputy chief ministers from BJP-led National Democratic Alliance (NDA) ruled states, held at Ashoka Hotel in New Delhi.
In the meeting, two key resolutions were passed — one commending the Indian armed forces for their exemplary conduct in Operation Sindoor, and another supporting the Centre’s decision to carry out a nationwide caste census.
According to people familiar with the proceedings, Modi said the caste enumeration move aims to empower marginalised communities by bringing them into the mainstream of development.
The resolution on Operation Sindoor, which was India’s military strike on terrorist camps in Pakistan, lauded the “strategic precision and unwavering dedication” of the defence forces. It also reaffirmed a bold new national stance: India will respond decisively and on its own terms to any terrorist threats.
Rajasthan Chief Minister Bhajan Lal Sharma introduced the resolution, which was seconded by Maharashtra Deputy CM and Shiv Sena leader Eknath Shinde. The resolution highlighted Prime Minister Modi’s “decisive, courageous, and nation-first” leadership and paid tribute to the armed forces’ bravery.
“Operation Sindoor is not just a military mission; it symbolizes India’s national resolve,” said Shinde. “Under PM Modi, India is meeting every challenge with fearless determination. The message is clear — any provocation will be met with a crushing response. No distinction will be made between terrorists and those who support them.”
The resolution also acknowledged major reforms in the defence sector under the Modi government — such as the One Rank One Pension scheme, indigenisation of equipment, border infrastructure upgrades, and modernisation of the armed forces.
Another key resolution — this one proposed by Haryana CM Nayab Saini — focused on the caste census. BJP President JP Nadda supported the move, saying that while the NDA does not engage in caste politics, the enumeration would help uplift underdeveloped communities across sectors.
Chief ministers also gave presentations on various initiatives in their states. Uttar Pradesh CM Yogi Adityanath showcased the recent Mahakumbh in Prayagraj, Chhattisgarh CM Vishnudev Sai spoke about the ‘Bastar model’ for development, and Uttarakhand CM Pushkar Singh Dhami presented on the implementation of the Uniform Civil Code (UCC). Union Home Minister Amit Shah also addressed issues related to Left-wing extremism.
Nadda said the NDA would mark 11 years of the Modi government with a series of public outreach programmes, alongside celebrating International Yoga Day on June 21 and commemorating 50 years since the Emergency.
The meeting was attended by key Union ministers including Amit Shah and Rajnath Singh, along with leaders from around 20 NDA-ruled states and alliance partners.
