NEET UG 2025: Dress Code Guidelines and Last-Minute Revision Tips

The National Eligibility cum Entrance Test for Undergraduate (NEET UG) 2025 will be held tomorrow, April 4, from 2 PM to 5 PM in a single shift. The exam is conducted by the National Testing Agency (NTA), and the exam is the gateway to medical colleges across India, and huge number of students are set to appear. With admit cards already out on neet.nta.nic.in. NTA has issued important instructions on do’s and don’t avoid trouble at the exam centre.

Dress Code: Keep It Simple

NTA has laid down a clear dress code to ensure smooth entry into exam halls:

• Avoid heavy or long-sleeved clothing. If you need to wear religious or cultural attire, arrive at the centre at least an hour early — by 12:30 PM — for security checks.

• Footwear should be basic — only slippers or sandals with low heels are allowed. No shoes.

• If you have a medical reason that requires a dress code exception, you should’ve already got approval from the NTA before your admit card was issued.

Banned Items: What Not to Carry

Security will be tight, with frisking done using sensitive metal detectors. Here’s what you absolutely must leave at home:

• No books, notes, or stationery — even things like pens, pencil boxes, scales, or calculators are banned.

• No gadgets — that means mobile phones, smartwatches, Bluetooth devices, or earphones.

• No personal accessories like wallets, handbags, belts, caps, or sunglasses.

• No jewellery or metallic items, including religious wear if it contains metal.

• No food or water bottles, open or sealed.

• No hidden devices — anything that could be used unfairly (like microchips or hidden cameras) is strictly prohibited.

Also, there will be no storage facility at the exam centre — so if you bring something that’s not allowed, you’ll have to leave it outside at your own risk.

If you’re wearing anything religious or symbolic, make sure to get there at least two hours early. Security staff may ask you to remove it if they suspect it’s concealing a device.

Final Reminder

With just a few hours to go, make sure you’ve double-checked your admit card, followed the dress code, packed only what’s allowed, and know your exam centre location. A calm mind and a clear head can make all the difference tomorrow.

Good luck!
