Nitish Kumar Pushes Bihar’s Tourism, Infrastructure and Sports Development Under Saat Nischay-3

Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar on Saturday said the state’s major tourism sites are being systematically developed and promoted as national and international destinations, with a focus on infrastructure, connectivity, and ecotourism.

Chairing a review meeting of development works in Vaishali district during his Samriddhi Yatra at the Panapur Bateshwar Nath Dham complex, Kumar said tourism circuits linking key destinations are being equipped with all essential facilities for visitors. He added that special emphasis is being placed on developing ecotourism across the state.

The Chief Minister highlighted the government’s Saat Nischay-3 programme, aimed at making Bihar one of the country’s most developed states. A key component of this initiative is building a strong foundation with modern expansion, including the development of planned cities and strengthening civic amenities in urban areas.

To improve connectivity, Kumar said work has begun on five new expressways, while rural roads are being widened to two lanes in a phased manner. Power infrastructure is being strengthened, and the government is promoting solar energy by installing rooftop solar panels for willing beneficiaries.

On the sports front, the Chief Minister noted that Bihar is constructing a world-class Sports City in Patna and establishing Centres of Excellence in every district. He added that the state has been regularly hosting national and international sporting events, fostering sports culture and youth participation.

Kumar also reviewed the progress of 430 projects approved under the Pragati Yatra, along with ongoing works under Saat Nischay-2. He directed officials to expedite implementation, ensuring all approved schemes are executed efficiently. He further instructed that projects identified under Saat Nischay-3 be started promptly and that ongoing initiatives under Saat Nischay-2 continue without delay.
