Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar on Tuesday visited the Bipad Skill Park in Patna, where he reviewed various training programmes and inspected the facilities provided to trainees.

During his visit, the Chief Minister took a detailed overview of the courses being offered at the Skill Park and examined the residential and mess arrangements available on campus. The Bipad Skill Park, apart from training government employees, is currently running six major skill development programmes aimed at enhancing employment opportunities for the youth of the state.

These programmes include Systems Applications and Products (SAP), Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA), Geriatric Caregiver training, Fashion Designing, Commis training, and Assistant Baking Technician courses. The initiative focuses on equipping young individuals with industry-relevant skills to improve their employability.

Under the programme, trainees are provided with free accommodation, meals, training kits, and uniforms. In addition, the Skill Park offers language training in English as well as foreign languages such as German, French, Spanish, and Japanese to further strengthen job prospects in domestic and international markets.

Officials informed that a total of 667 trainees have so far undergone capacity-building programmes at the centre, excluding government employees. Out of these, 204 candidates have secured employment opportunities both in India and abroad.

Several senior officials were present during the visit, including Water Resources Minister Vijay Kumar Chaudhary, Principal Secretary to the Chief Minister Deepak Prasad, Chief Secretary Pratyay Amrit, Director General of BIPARD B. Rajendra, and Building Construction Department Secretary Kumar Ravi, among others.

The visit underscored the state government’s focus on skill development and employment generation through structured training initiatives.
