Pakistan a Threat to Humanity, Says Owaisi After India’s Operation Sindoor

Hyderabad MP and AIMIM chief Asaduddin Owaisi has launched a scathing attack on Pakistan, accusing it of being a persistent supporter of terrorism and branding it a “threat to humanity.” His comments, made in an interview with the Press Trust of India, come in the aftermath of India’s major counter-terror offensive, Operation Sindoor, which was launched in response to the deadly April 22 terror attack in Pahalgam that left 26 people dead.
Owaisi stressed that the international community must be made aware of the brutal violence inflicted on civilians by Pakistan-backed terrorists. “India has been a victim of Pakistan-sponsored terrorism for decades. This started during the era of Muhammad Zia-ul-Haq, and we need to remind the world of the atrocities—be it the Kandahar hijacking, the 26/11 Mumbai attacks, the 2001 Parliament attack, Uri, Pathankot, or the recent killings in Reasi and Pahalgam. These aren’t just attacks on India—they’re crimes against humanity,” he said.
He pointed out that Operation Sindoor, launched on May 7, was a direct response to the Pahalgam massacre and involved precise military strikes on terror camps located in Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Jammu and Kashmir (PoJK). The operation reportedly neutralized over 100 terrorists.
Owaisi also took aim at the Pakistani military and its intelligence establishment, accusing them of harboring long-term objectives aimed at destabilizing India. “The deep state and military in Pakistan have always aimed to disrupt India’s economic growth and divide its communities. This is part of their unwritten agenda,” he said.
He further emphasized the need for India to put forward its own narrative on the global stage. “Pakistan tries to portray itself as an Islamic country standing up to India, but India is home to nearly 20 crore Muslims. We must tell the world our side of the story,” he added.
Referring to Pakistan’s longstanding hostility, Owaisi said India should have seen through its intentions right from 1947, when tribal militias backed by Pakistan invaded Jammu and Kashmir shortly after independence. “This isn’t new. They’ve been playing this game for decades. They will continue to do so tomorrow. But India’s patience ran out after Pahalgam.”
Condemning Pakistan for arming, training, and funding terrorists, Owaisi reiterated his view that the country poses a serious danger not just to India, but to global peace. “By supporting terrorism, Pakistan has become a threat to humanity itself,” he said.
