Pakistani National Detained by BSF After Attempting to Cross India Border; Dies from Injuries

A Pakistani man was detained by the Border Security Force (BSF) on Monday after trying to illegally cross into India near the Jammu and Kashmir border. The man was spotted approaching the border fence aggressively in Kathua district. Despite warnings from BSF troops, he did not stop, prompting the soldiers to fire shots at his legs to prevent the intrusion.

The man was arrested while injured and immediately taken to a hospital for treatment. Unfortunately, he later died from his injuries, according to the latest updates from officials.

In an official statement, the BSF said, “On 11 Aug 2025 evening, BSF troops observed suspicious movement wherein a Pakistani national was seen crossing the International Border and approaching aggressively towards the border fence in Kathua district. He was warned by alert troops but paid no heed.” The statement also noted that a formal protest has been lodged with the Pakistani Rangers.

Authorities are working to identify the man and investigate his motive for the attempted illegal crossing.

**Chinese National Arrested Trying to Enter India Illegally from Nepal**

In a separate incident on Sunday evening, a 62-year-old Chinese national was arrested at the Indo-Nepal border for trying to enter India without valid documents.

Zhang Yong was stopped during a routine check by the Sashastra Seema Bal (SSB) in the Sonauli area. He was found carrying a Chinese passport but did not have an Indian visa or other necessary permits, said Ajeet Pratap Singh, Station Officer of Sonauli police station.

Both incidents highlight the ongoing challenges along India’s borders as security forces remain vigilant to prevent unauthorized entries.
