PM Modi Inaugurates Northeast's First Emergency Landing Facility in Assam's Dibrugarh

Prime Minister Narendra Modi today inaugurated the Emergency Landing Facility on Moran Bypass in Dibrugarh district of Assam, the first such facility in Northeast India designed to support military and civil aircraft during emergencies.
The Prime Minister landed at the facility this morning, marking its operational inauguration, before departing for Guwahati to inaugurate projects worth over Rs 5,450 crore.
The Emergency Landing Facility, developed along a national highway in coordination with the Indian Air Force, can support landing and take-off of both military and civil aircraft during emergencies.
PM Modi witnessed an aerial display featuring Indian Air Force aircraft including Sukhoi Su-30MKI, Rafale, AN-32, Tejas, and Advanced Light Helicopters.
The Prime Minister will inaugurate this bridge across River Brahmaputra connecting Guwahati and North Guwahati, constructed at a cost of Rs 3,000 crore.

Later today, the Prime Minister will address a Booth Sanmilan of BJP workers in Guwahati, engaging with party cadres ahead of the 2026 Assam Assembly elections.
