PM Modi to Inaugurate ₹13,000-Crore Projects in Bihar on August 22

Prime Minister Narendra Modi is scheduled to visit Bihar on August 22 during which he will launch projects worth Rs 13,000 crores in the state including inauguration of 6 lane Aunta-Simaria Ganga bridge.
A month after his last visit to Motihari on July 18, PM Modi is set to visit Bihar again on August 22 during which he will launch several projects worth Rs 13,000 crores and also address a public meeting there.
Bihar Deputy Chief Minister Samrat Chaudhary said that PM Modi had special concern for development of Bihar. Under his regime, Centre was providing all assistance to Bihar for its accelerated pace of development and prosperity, he added.
PM will inaugurate 8.15-km long Aunta–Simaria bridge project on NH-31, including a 1.86-km six-lane bridge on the Ganga built at a cost of over Rs 1,870 crore. The bridge will provide seamless connectivity between Mokama in Patna and Begusarai, while reducing the travel distance for heavy vehicles by over 100 km, easing traffic congestion, and supporting economic activity in North Bihar.
Modi will also inaugurate four-lane Bakhtiyarpur–Mokama section of NH-31 worth around Rs 1,900 crore, along with upgradation of Bikramganj–Dawath–Nawanagar-Dumraon section of NH-120. He will dedicate the Rs 6,880 crore Buxar Thermal Power Plant (660×1 MW) to the nation, enhancing Bihar’s electricity supply and meeting rising energy demand.
PM is also set to inaugurate the Homi Bhabha Cancer Hospital and Research Centre in Muzaffarpur. Equipped with advanced oncology facilities, ICU wards, and modern labs, the state-of-the-art hospital will provide affordable cancer treatment to patients in Bihar and neighbouring states.
Under the Namami Gange programme, he will inaugurate a sewerage treatment plant and network at Munger worth over Rs 520 crores, aimed at reducing pollution in the Ganga and improving sanitation. He will also lay the foundation for urban infrastructure projects worth Rs 1,260 crores, including sewerage and water supply systems in Aurangabad, Jehanabad, Lakhisarai, Bodhgaya, and Jamui.
Modi will flag off the Amrit Bharat Express between Gayaji and Delhi and the Buddhist Circuit Train between Vaishali and Koderma, strengthening both passenger convenience and religious tourism.
He will also hand over keys to beneficiaries of housing schemes under Pradhan Mantri Gramin Awas Yojana-Gramin (PMAY-Gramin) and PMAY-Urban, marking "Grih Pravesh " for more than 16,000 families.
