PM Modi to Lay Foundation of ₹45,000-Cr Mahi Atomic Power Plant in Rajasthan

Prime Minister Narendra Modi will lay the foundation stone of the Mahi Atomic Power Plant - an ambitious project involving an investment of Rs 45,000 crore, in Banswara on September 25.

The dream project for the tribal-dominated backward tribal region of the South Western Rajasthan is being installed, in the vicinity of the huge Mahi Dam, under the aegis of the Atomic Energy Mission.

Rajasthan Chief Minister Bhajan Lal Sharma, his Madhya Pradesh counterpart Dr Mohan Yadav, besides many other dignitaries would be present in the function.

This will be the second Atomic Power plant in the state after one in the Rawatbhata of Chittorgarh.

During his Banswara visit the PM is likely to pay obeisance at the famous Tripura sundari shrine, an official spokesman said here on Thursday.

Prime Minister Modi is also scheduled to address a public meeting in Banswara. Preparations for successful conduction of the program is being made by the BJP cadres led by state chief Madan Rathore.

Meanwhile, Chief Minister Sharma chaired a high-level meeting in Jaipur for ensuring all administrative preparations for the PM's visit.

Chief Secretary Sudhansh Pant, Director General of Police Rajiv Sharma and other top level officers attended the meeting.
