PM Modi Unveils ₹1.22 Lakh Crore Projects in Rajasthan

Prime Minister Narendra Modi arrived in Rajasthan on Thursday for a packed four-hour visit, during which he inaugurated and laid foundation stones for development projects worth ₹1.22 lakh crore from Banswara.
The Prime Minister’s special Indian Air Force aircraft landed at Maharana Pratap Dabok Airport in Udaipur around 12:45 pm. He then boarded an IAF helicopter and proceeded to the Mahi-Banswara helipad, reaching shortly before 2pm.
Upon arrival, PM Modi was warmly received by Rajasthan Governor Haribhau Bagde, Chief Minister Bhajan Lal Sharma, and other dignitaries.
The key highlight of the visit was the laying of the foundation stone for a 2,800 MW atomic energy plant at Napala village on the outskirts of Banswara, involving an investment of ₹42,000 crore.
The Prime Minister also inaugurated and laid the foundation stones for several development projects across various sectors, including renewable energy. These projects are expected to add 500 gigawatts of solar power generation capacity.
Of the total ₹1.22 lakh crore worth of projects, ₹1.08 lakh crore are dedicated solely to Rajasthan.
At the same event, PM Modi flagged off two new Vande Bharat Express trains via remote control —one from Jodhpur and another from Bikaner to Delhi Cantt — as well as a new Express train from Udaipur to Chandigarh.
The Prime Minister also distributed appointment letters to 15,000 youths selected for government jobs and interacted with beneficiaries of the PM-KUSUM scheme and other government initiatives. Many beneficiaries connected with him virtually via video conferencing from different parts of the country.
Later, PM Modi addressed a large public gathering at Napala village. Before taking the stage, he greeted the crowd while riding in an open jeep, accompanied by Chief Minister Bhajan Lal Sharma, Deputy Chief Ministers Diya Kumari and Dr Prem Chand Bairwa, and BJP state president Madan Rathore.
Before returning to New Delhi, the Prime Minister was scheduled to pay obeisance at the famous Tripura Sundari shrine in Banswara district.
