Pratishtha Dwadashi Celebrations of Ram Mandir to Be Held on December 31 in Ayodhya

Celebration for the second anniversary of Ram Mandir at Ayodhya, widely known as Pratishtha Dwadashi, will take place on December 31. Defence Minister Rajnath Singh will be the chief guest and hoist the national flag at the Annapurna Temple within the Shri Ram Janmabhoomi temple complex. Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath will also be present for the ceremony.
The rituals, which began from Saturday onward for the celebrations at the Ram Mandir are being conducted under the leadership of Ram Mandir Trust member Vishwaprasanna Teerth, with 15 Vedic scholars from Bengaluru Vidyapeeth in attendance.
"While the Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Teerth Kshetra Trust has planned numerous programmes in Ayodhya for this occasion, considering the increasing cold weather and the geographical limitations of Ayodhya city, a very large number of devotees shouldn't gather there," said Vinod Kumar Bansal, spokesperson, Vishwa Hindu Parishad (VHP).
An appeal has been made to the Hindu community by VHP that, "on this auspicious day, all devotees should engage in meditation, chanting, and glorification of the Lord in a religious, spiritual, and 'sattvic' atmosphere from Wednesday afternoon to Thursday afternoon. They should decorate their homes, shops, offices, and business establishments with decorative arches and saffron flags."
It has also been advised to perform havans, yagnas, satsangs, prayers, recitation of Hanuman Chalisa and Akhand Ramayana.
"They should send congratulatory messages to each other on Pratishtha Dwadashi. They should dedicate their time to charity, philanthropy, and public welfare activities," said VHP.
The idol of Ram as Ram Lalla (young Ram) was consecrated at the Ayodhya temple on January 22, 2024 in Ayodhya, Uttar Pradesh. The estimated cost of the temple project is at around Rs 1,800 crore.
