Punjab CM Bhagwant Mann Under Medical Observation for Second Day in Chandigarh

Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann continues to be under medical observation for the second day at a private hospital in Chandigarh. Medical teams report an improvement in his condition, with his pulse rate stabilizing.
Sources confirm that Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) leader Manish Sisodia, along with other senior party figures, is expected to visit the Chief Minister today.
Mann was admitted to the hospital last evening after experiencing symptoms of weakness and an irregular heartbeat. Doctors promptly conducted a thorough medical evaluation and recommended hospitalization for close monitoring.
Hospital authorities stated that the Chief Minister’s condition is being closely supervised by a dedicated medical team.
According to sources, Mann had been unwell for the past two days, which led to the postponement of a scheduled visit with AAP chief Arvind Kejriwal to flood-affected areas.
Initially resting at his official residence in Chandigarh while receiving treatment, Mann’s condition worsened on Friday, necessitating hospital admission. As a result, a cabinet meeting planned for Friday evening was also deferred.
This is not the first instance of health concerns for the Punjab CM. On September 26, 2024, Mann was admitted to Fortis Hospital in Mohali for a routine check-up, which revealed inflammation in a lung artery, causing increased pressure on his heart and unstable blood pressure.
Further tests confirmed a diagnosis of leptospirosis, a bacterial infection linked to exposure to contaminated water, which can affect multiple organs. With consistent medical care and treatment, Mann’s condition improved, and he was discharged on September 29, 2024.
