Punjab Govt Releases ₹71 Crore for Flood Relief, Rehabilitation

The Punjab Government has released ₹71 crore as immediate relief for flood-hit districts across the state.

Revenue, Rehabilitation and Disaster Management Minister Hardeep Singh Mundian said the Bhagwant Singh Mann-led government is committed to compensating the losses suffered by people during the floods and ensuring timely relief and rehabilitation.

Of the total, ₹35.50 crore had already been released earlier to all districts in the first phase. An additional ₹35.50 crore has now been sanctioned for 12 worst-affected districts.

Additional Chief Secretary-cum-Financial Commissioner (Revenue) Anurag Verma shared the district-wise allocation: Amritsar (₹5 crore), Bathinda (₹2 crore), Barnala (₹1 crore), Faridkot (₹1 crore), Ferozepur (₹5 crore), Fazilka (₹5 crore), Fatehgarh Sahib (₹1 crore), Gurdaspur (₹6.5 crore), Hoshiarpur (₹3 crore), Jalandhar (₹5 crore), Kapurthala (₹5 crore), Ludhiana (₹5 crore), Moga (₹1.5 crore), Mansa (₹1 crore), Malerkotla (₹1 crore), Patiala (₹5 crore), Pathankot (₹4 crore), Rupnagar (₹2.5 crore), Sri Muktsar Sahib (₹2 crore), SAS Nagar (₹2 crore), SBS Nagar (₹1 crore), Sangrur (₹1.5 crore) and Tarn Taran (₹5 crore).

Mundian said every possible step is being taken to safeguard lives and property, and to ensure that affected families receive support without delay. He added that the government is simultaneously working on immediate relief and long-term rehabilitation, with special focus on farmers who have suffered severe crop damage.
