Punjab Water Minister Chetan Singh Jouramajra Inspects Bhakra Dam
Chandigarh/Nangal:Punjab Water Resources and Soil and Water Conservation Minister Chetan Singh Jouramajra on Tuesday inspected Bhakra Dam to assess its maintenance and water levels.
During his visit, Jouramajra reiterated the Mann government's commitment to optimal utilization of canal water for drinking, irrigation, and industrial purposes.
"The government is focusing on groundwater conservation through maximum canal water usage," he said.
Jouramajra reviewed the dam's maintenance procedures, engaged with officials, and issued directives. He also emphasized enhancing canal water utilization through timely repairs.
The Minister reaffirmed Punjab's dedication to fulfilling its BBMB obligations, including recruiting for state quota posts.
Jouramajra toured the power generation unit, infrastructure, and museum, gaining insights from on-site officials. He also planted a sapling during the visit.
Present were BBMB Chief Engineer CP Singh, Deputy Chief Engineer HL Kamboj, and other officials.
