Rahul Gandhi Accuses Modi of Misleading Bihar’s Youth, Calls Social Media the ‘New Drug of the Century’

Leader of Opposition in the Lok Sabha Rahul Gandhi today launched a fierce attack on Prime Minister Narendra Modi and the BJP-led central government and accused Modi of misleading Bihar’s youth and trapping them in the world of social media.
Addressing a massive election rally in the Kasba Assembly constituency of Purnea district, Gandhi dubbed the social media, gift of Modi to the youth , as the addiction of the 21st century.
Calling social media the new drug of the century, Gandhi said, “Reels, Facebook and Instagram are the addictions of the 21st century. What alcohol and drugs once did, these platforms are doing now.”
Gandhi said that instead of empowering the youth economically, the government has trapped them in the world of social media. “We want money to reach the pockets of Bihar’s youth, but the Prime Minister is keeping them busy making reels. The earnings from reels do not go into their pockets but it goes to Jio, Adani and Ambani,” he remarked.
Rahul Gandhi accused the BJP of rigging elections in several states, saying that the BJP has stolen elections in Haryana, Maharashtra, Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh and even in the Lok Sabha. Now, they are trying to steal the Bihar election too. He alleged that lakhs of voters supporting the Grand Alliance have been removed from the electoral rolls.
Taking aim at Chief Minister Nitish Kumar, Gandhi said that despite being in power for two decades, his government had failed to provide employment.
After 20 years of Nitish Kumar’s rule, Bihar’s youth are still without jobs, he alleged saying that they are forced to work as labourers across the country, from Karnataka and Punjab to Jammu and Kashmir, Telangana and Arunachal Pradesh. Even cities like Dubai have been built with their hard work, he said.
Bihar's youth are among the most hardworking people in India, but Nitish Kumar has turned them into the labour force of the nation, he added.
Gandhi also targeted union Home Minister Amit Shah, alleging that Shah claims there is no land available in Bihar for industries, but land is handed over to Adani for just one rupee.
He further said that people of Bihar are forced to travel to Delhi and Mumbai for medical treatment, to Bengaluru and Hyderabad for education and to every corner of the country for employment.
Rahul Gandhi outlined the Congress’ vision for Bihar, promising better education and employment infrastructure. He said that the Grand Alliance wants excellent colleges, universities and small industries to be established in Bihar. He want to see mobile phones made here, proudly bearing the label ‘Made in Bihar’, he added.
Gandhi called for a return to Bihar’s historic spirit of unity and progress, noting that Bihar should once again become the land of development and love, where people of all castes and religions come together to guide the nation.
