Rahul Gandhi Appears in Sultanpur Court in Defamation Case Over Remarks on Amit Shah

Congress MP and Leader of the Opposition in the Lok Sabha, Rahul Gandhi, appeared in the Sultanpur MP-MLA court today in connection with the alleged derogatory remarks against Union Home Minister Amit Shah.
Rahul Gandhi remained in court until the 20th, recording his statement at the last moment.
Congress MP Rahul Gandhi appeared in the Sultanpur Civil Court today in connection with the alleged derogatory remarks against Union Home Minister Amit Shah. The court had given him today as his last opportunity to present his side and record his statement.
Arriving in court amid tight security, Rahul Gandhi remained inside the courtroom for approximately 20 minutes. He left the courtroom shortly after recording his official statement before the magistrate and completing the necessary legal procedures.
During the hearing, Congress UP State President Ajay Rai and senior leader and MP Pramod Tiwari were prominently present outside the court premises in support of him.
The entire matter relates to Rahul Gandhi's alleged derogatory remarks against Union Minister Amit Shah during a press conference in Karnataka.
Regarding this statement, Vijay Mishra, former president of the District Cooperative Bank and a BJP leader, filed a civil defamation suit against Rahul Gandhi, which is currently being heard in court.
Rahul Gandhi appeared in court on July 26, 2024, but has consistently been absent on hearing dates since. When he failed to appear on the previous date, January 19th, the court took a firm stance and ordered him to appear in person on February 20th.
