Rahul Gandhi Unveils Congress Manifesto for Assam Polls, Focus on Governance, Healthcare and Identity

Congress leader Rahul Gandhi on Thursday unveiled the party’s manifesto for the upcoming Assam Assembly elections, highlighting commitments across 11 major sectors including governance, identity and healthcare.

The manifesto was released at an election rally in the presence of Assam Congress president Gaurav Gogoi and other senior leaders. According to the party, the document outlines 11 resolutions covering governance, identity, healthcare, infrastructure development, industrialisation, agriculture, rural and urban development, climate change, and a “secured Assam.”

The release of the manifesto follows the party’s earlier announcement of its “five guarantees” during the March 29 visit of Congress president Mallikarjun Kharge.

Polling for the 126-member Assam Assembly is scheduled to take place on April 9, with the counting of votes set for May 4.

The manifesto launch marks a crucial step in the Congress party’s campaign strategy as it seeks to strengthen its position and regain power in the state after being out of office for nearly a decade.
