Rahul Gandhi Warns of ‘Hydrogen Bomb’ Revelations on Voter List Manipulation, BJP Hits Back

Congress leader Rahul Gandhi on Monday launched a fierce new attack on the BJP-led central government, claiming that the party is about to drop a “hydrogen bomb” of revelations that will expose large-scale voter list manipulation. He alleged that Prime Minister Narendra Modi would be unable to face the public once the truth comes out.

“I want to tell BJP leaders — have you ever heard of anything more powerful than an atom bomb? That’s a hydrogen bomb. Be ready, because it’s coming. Very soon, the truth about vote theft will be out,” Gandhi declared, addressing reporters in Patna at the conclusion of the INDIA bloc’s ‘Voter Adhikar Yatra.’

Doubling down on his accusations, Gandhi said, “I guarantee you, once the hydrogen bomb explodes, Narendra Modi will not be able to show his face to the country.”

Gandhi also claimed that the Congress slogan "vote chor, gaddi chhod" (vote thief, vacate the chair) has gone global. “It started here, but now it’s echoing in China, and even in America people are talking about it,” he said.

The BJP swiftly dismissed Gandhi’s statements, with senior leader and Patna Sahib MP Ravi Shankar Prasad calling his remarks reckless and irresponsible.

“He earlier spoke of an atom bomb — that turned out to be a dud. Now it’s a hydrogen bomb? What do bombs have to do with elections?” Prasad said. “As the Leader of the Opposition, Rahul Gandhi should act with more maturity. His conduct must be more dignified.”

Prasad also questioned why Gandhi has yet to submit an affidavit to the Election Commission to support his claims. “Over 21 lakh dead people have been found on the electoral rolls — should they remain there? If Rahul Gandhi truly believes in what he’s saying, why won’t he file the affidavit? He knows that if he lies in it, legal action will follow,” he said.

Rahul Gandhi has been increasingly vocal about what he calls the BJP's “systematic theft” of elections, accusing the party — along with the Election Commission — of manipulating voter lists. The Congress has cited instances like the alleged deletion of genuine voters and the inclusion of fake or duplicate names in key constituencies.

One of the examples the party highlighted is the Mahadevapura assembly segment in the Bengaluru Central Lok Sabha constituency. Congress also flagged the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of electoral rolls in Bihar, where polls are due, as another alleged example of what it calls “vote chori” (vote theft).

Despite Gandhi’s dramatic claims about a looming “hydrogen bomb” of revelations, neither he nor the Congress has shared details on what exactly will be revealed or when.

The INDIA bloc’s 'Voter Adhikar Yatra,' led by Rahul Gandhi and other leaders from the Mahagathbandhan alliance, concluded Monday in Patna. The yatra covered 1,300 km across 110 assembly constituencies in 25 of Bihar’s 38 districts, aiming to build momentum ahead of the upcoming state elections.

As the political heat intensifies, all eyes are now on what the Congress party will reveal next — and whether Gandhi’s promised "hydrogen bomb" has substance or will fizzle out like the BJP claims.
