Railway Board Approves 12 Road Over Bridges in Bihar, 48 More DPRs Ready for Clearance

A historic initiative has been taken towards making traffic smooth and safe in Bihar. A major progress has been made towards realizing the ambitious goal of reaching the capital Patna from any corner of the state in a maximum of three and a half hours. As a result of the request and continuous efforts of the state government, the Ministry of Railways, Government of India has given its approval for the construction of Road Over Bridge (ROB) in place of a total of 223 railway gates in the state.

It is worth noting that in this regard, an important meeting was held on Thursday between Mihir Kumar Singh, Additional Chief Secretary, Road Construction Department and Naveen Gulati, Member, Infrastructure, Railway Board, Chhatrasal Singh, General Manager, East Central Railway and senior railway officials, in which it was informed by the Railways that the DPR of 12 ROBs / RUBs has been approved by the Railway Board.

These have received approval

1. Railway gate number of Saharsa district-104B1 (Saharsa Junction-Baijnathpur)

2. Railway gate number of Chhapra district-47spl (Chhapra Junction-Chhapra Kachhari)

3. Railway gate number of Sitamarhi district-55C/3 (Sitamarhi-Dumra)

4. Railway gate number of Gaya district-39/C/T (Paharpur-Gurpa) and 8/C (Paraiya-Guraru)

5. Railway gate number of Lakhisarai district-24/A/E (Abhaypur-Masudan) and 27/B/T (Kajra-Abhaypur)

6. Railway gate number of Jamui district-36 (Jhajha-Simultala)

7. Railway gate number of Munger district-17/A/E (Jamalpur-Dashrathpur)

8. Railway gate of Aurangabad district Number-28/B (Feshar-Baghoi Kusa) and 23/C/T (Jakhim-Baghoi Kusa)

9. Muzaffarpur District Railway Gate Number-123 (Motipur-Mehsi)

DPR of 48 ROBs ready

Apart from this, DPR of 48 ROBs has been prepared. Approval will be received on this by next month. DPR is being prepared on 112 other ROBs. Let us tell you that by running a campaign from March to May, NOC was given by the railways to build ROBs on all 223 railway crossings of the state government's road construction department. Along with this, NOC was also given for 236 out of the other 259 LC (located on the roads of other departments like Rural Works Department) railway gates.

Minister Nitin Naveen said, we are cooperating with the railways in every possible way. Expressing happiness over this remarkable achievement, Road Construction Minister Nitin Naveen said that with the construction of 223 ROBs, the target of reaching the capital Patna from any part of the state in a maximum of 3 hours 30 minutes will soon be realized. He said that through these ROBs, the common people will get relief from the jam at the railway gates and road traffic in the state will not only become faster but also more secure. The minister thanked the Central Government and especially the Ministry of Railways for their quick decision and cooperation in this important project. He also said that the Bihar government is providing all possible technical and administrative support to the railways to complete the construction work of ROB in a timely and quality manner.
