Rajnath Singh Backs Shreyasi Singh, Slams RJD, and Promises Boost for Bihar’s Farmers

Defence Minister and senior BJP leader Rajnath Singh today said that Shreyasi Singh, the National Democratic Alliance (NDA) candidate from Jamui, will become the “voice of Jamui and Bihar” once elected to the Assembly.
Addressing a massive election rally in Jamui, Singh praised Shreyasi Singh, calling her the “daughter of his close friend Digvijay Singh” and expressing pride in her leadership and eloquence. Shreyasi Singh’s confidence, commitment, and talent show that she is the future of Bihar, he said.
Taking a sharp dig at the Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD), Singh alleged that RJD leaders ran an autocratic and lawless administration, whereas Chief Minister Nitish Kumar has governed with honesty and integrity.
“For 20 years, Nitish Kumar has worked tirelessly. No one can accuse him of corruption. The people of Bihar now have the chance to vote again for good governance,” he said.
The Defence Minister assured voters that the NDA government would increase the annual assistance to farmers from Rs 6,000 to Rs 9,000 if re-elected. He also said that
Rs 10,000 has been given to women to promote self-employment.
Highlighting India’s economic progress under Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Singh said, “When Modi first became Prime Minister, India ranked 11th in global GDP. Today, we are fourth, and international financial institutions predict that India will soon be third.”
He added, “The world now listens when India speaks -- this is the new confidence of our nation.”
Criticising Congress leader Rahul Gandhi, Singh said that Rahul speaks irresponsibly just for the lure of power. He even talks about reservations in the Army, something that insults the soldiers. The Army is not a job; it is a sacred duty, a dharma, he said.
Singh recalled how India acted firmly after terror attacks in Kashmir, saying that after the Pahalgam massacre, the Army was given full freedom for action against Pakistan. "The ‘Sindoor Operation’ is not over — it is only paused. Whoever provokes India will face consequences,” he said.
He stressed that India stands for global brotherhood but will never tolerate provocation. “India believes the whole world is one family, but if someone challenges us, we will respond decisively,” he warned.
The senior BJP leader expressed confidence in a sweeping NDA victory saying that the trends show that Shreyasi Singh is heading for a record win in Jamui, and the NDA is on course for a two-thirds majority in Bihar.
Later, addressing another rally in Sikandra, Singh appealed to voters to elect Hindustani Awam Morcha (HAM) candidate Prafull Manjhi with a huge margin, describing the former chief minister as “a sincere and honest leader who embodies NDA’s commitment to public service.”
